A lot of place names for suburbs of Bristol have some historical meaning to them. Does anyone know why Highridge is so called? I do have a theory but I'm probably wrong.
While I'm at it, let's get greedy and ask another question(s) about Highridge. Where does the 'peart' in Highridge Lane get its name from and is there anything that has been written about it in an 'recent' historical context - I believe there were some excavations there or close by. I'm sure I read something about the peart in Bristol Times but can't find anything after searching the 200 plus B.T's I have.
Thanks for any help.
