Evening Ray
A coupla years ago, an old friend requested that i help search for her dad, who was a merchant seaman. I contacted various English sites who all requested a rather substatial fee with no guarantee of a result. i also contacted some Australian merchant navy sites, and again no luck.
Just wondering if you could help.
cheers

I can't guarantee success and perhaps you've already visited some of the sites but take a look at http://www.gordonmumford.com/m-navy3.htm#merchant%20navy and scroll down until you see "Search for Shipmates, etc." these are links to several merchant marine "people finders".

If you think it'll help, email me the name and anything else you know about this seaman (ships he served on, training establishment etc.) and I'll add it to my site. Sometimes I don't get anything back but now and then something turns up.
